2402-4-Long Vacation

Pretending it's still February, but in reality, half of March has already passed. It's definitely not because my mind was sluggish while using neovim that I didn't write anything in February🤣

📓 Timeline - A Record of Life#

Mainly just sorting out some small matters before, during, and after the Spring Festival holiday. I recorded so little last month that many things actually went unrecorded. Is this called seeing a leopard through a tube?

Apple TV Setup#

The first step upon returning home was to set up the Apple TV, using Infuse + Alibaba Cloud Disk to solve the issues of "having to subscribe to different memberships for different streaming platforms" + "sharing movies and TV shows with my parents while I'm not home" + "showing my parents some foreign works," and so on.

In terms of movies, I compiled a collection of films that have won Oscars and other awards over the years, as well as movies from some famous domestic and foreign directors. During the Spring Festival holiday, I also accompanied them to watch three movies on TV, and they have basically become familiar with using Infuse.

In terms of TV shows, the difficulty lies in the fact that I don't watch TV shows and don't know what to recommend that would suit them. However, fortunately, one show might keep them entertained for a month.

In terms of screen mirroring, I haven't researched it yet, so my dad is still using the screen mirroring feature on the Xiaomi TV while watching Bilibili. But that's enough for now; I'll study how to mirror to the Apple TV later.

In terms of music, they previously complained that many songs on QQ Music required a membership to listen to. Now that I've subscribed to Apple One, I directly taught them how to use Apple Music. I logged into my App Store account on the abandoned iPad in the living room. They can select songs on the iPad and send them to the Xiaomi speaker (the sound quality of the Xiaomi TV is worse than that of the Xiaomi speaker, so I didn't project it onto the TV~~).

In terms of IPTV, the IPTV source is still not stable enough and has poor practicality. On New Year's Eve, the IPTV source couldn't even play CCTV3, so we ended up using the Central Video app. I'll solve that when I have time.

(Watching "Dreaming of Becoming a Magical Girl" in the living room at home, there is still some psychological pressure)

Wildlife Park#

During the Spring Festival, I went to Chimelong and saw this 🐨 that looks quite similar to the troublemaker cat in "Beastars," especially those dead fish eyes. So I brought it home.

The hardest part of the process was enduring my parents' disdainful looks after I bought it. They even joked, "You've got a girlfriend now; you should bring her home next time."

There were so many people; I will never think about traveling during such statutory holidays again. It felt like half the park was in line. If I want to go, I should go on a weekday. If I can achieve cable car freedom and little train freedom, the experience should be +++.

Other Brief Matters#

  • Illness: I mistakenly judged that I had the flu, bought flu medicine directly, and didn't see a doctor. As a result, it lasted a long time; I had a fever for two days, a runny nose for two days, and then I coughed for 20 days. I only saw a doctor this week, and it turned out to be bronchitis.
  • Wanting to write a Q&A bot based on RAG: I planned to first create a function for tg word vector search history, but in the end, I only opened an issue.
  • Trying to do some cutting, but many were unsuccessful: After messing around with neovim for a while, I still reverted to vscode. I deleted Arc, and after using Safari for a while, I reinstalled Arc. However, there were some successes; I recounted my commonly used items and drafted Person X Community X Object - v0.1.0 - niracler.
  • Unexpected misfortune: Due to some force majeure event, I lost my Twitter and Telegram accounts. Everyone should pay attention to privacy and security; don't use real names online.

What Did I Watch? or What Did I Use?#

The progress of the software should be considered my familiarity with the software.

Work & Product NameMediumProgressRatingComplaints
Practical Vim TipsBook30%8The book is good. However, I only learned a little bit, like copy-pasting, selecting, and searching. In the end, I still gave up; vscode + obsidian is much smoother.
Tang Poetry: The Cambrian PeriodBook100%8It's easy to read, and it even feels like savoring a martial arts novel.
Winter RhapsodyGame85%8I can only say that pixel art as a medium for lewd content is quite good (🤦).

Compared to the repetitive themes and tasks of the previous work, this mini-game has more variety and is a bit easier. However, I seem to have encountered a bug; according to the fortune teller's guide, I can't find the park's hat and the subsequent sunglasses.
New Urusei YatsuraAnime80%8I was looking for something to watch while eating, so I clicked to watch and accidentally ended up watching 12 episodes in one night. Lum is just too cute. I didn't realize that the struggle between the fallen and childhood friends existed back in the 1980s.

I found that when I previously watched "Haiyore! Nyaruko!!!", I thought the characters were all silly, and I didn't want to continue after two episodes. I preferred works that were deep and tragic, where the protagonist was thoroughly tortured. I liked works that emphasized depth and sharpness, such as "Steins;Gate" and "Puella Magi Madoka Magica."

But after getting older (or rather, after my middle school phase passed), I feel that these light-hearted and enjoyable works suit me better.
Crossing the Blade of Life: Jin Yong's Female Character GuideBook80%7I've read the reviews of the female characters in Jin Yong's works. When reviewing Huang Rong, it was mentioned that "because she is too smart, she constantly raises the standards for those around her, demanding that others be better, faster, and stronger; and because she is too smart, she can't stand the dullness of those around her, having no patience to communicate with these fools, and being dissatisfied with everything they do."

Although I'm not a smart person, I've also made this mistake 🤡
Honkai: Star Rail 2.0 Main StoryGame100%8The storytelling is excellent. Hanabi is so underwhelming that I feel compelled to pull for her. However, if they release the nightingale, I will definitely pull for her too~~
Chronicles of Chinese GamesDocumentary100%4It reminded me of Gil Amelio's infamous quote, "There's a hole in the boat, and my job is to make sure everyone rows in the same direction."

No wonder there are only three episodes; it seems to avoid heavy topics and only talks about the slightly better side. Why has only mobile gaming developed, and in such a distorted form? These questions weren't even addressed.
Shumatsu no Harem FantasiaManga100%7Much better than the original in terms of sensory experience, both in plot and story background. However, after the childhood friend dies (fake), the appearance of the second male lead caused the experience to drop sharply. I want to skip whenever the second male lead's plot comes up. (Otherwise, I could give it four stars; the original was the same; I couldn't get through it every time it updated~~).

What's particularly interesting is that the unconventional protagonist "almost always faces setbacks when things go smoothly." During the battle between crawling forces, the protagonist's various clever maneuvers were impressive, and it shifted from a hypothetical three-on-one to an actual one-on-three, which was quite interesting. The opposing forces seem to be more intelligent than the protagonist, which feels like the author is deliberately trying to show the protagonist's naivety, given that he is still too young. (I won't mention that he grows up and faces setbacks again later~~).

It might also be that I've seen too many overpowered protagonists in recent years, making this kind of plot feel refreshing. However, after multiple near-encirclements by the army, the harem group still remains intact.

PS. My favorite character is the big-eyed daughter of the turtle family; she looks very strange but successfully attracted me. Plus, her defensive magic is so cool.
Life of PiMovie100%10The brutal journey of Pi successfully gave me psychological trauma. Especially after reading online analyses of the possible third story, the metaphor of the island sent chills down my spine.

If I hadn't known this was a good movie and that Ang Lee is such a famous director, I might have thought, "This story is so fake, filled with various unrealistic dissonances," and given up on it at first glance. However, this dissonance is intentionally created by the director to draw your attention, so that when the mystery is revealed, you have an epiphany.

Last year, when I watched "The Matrix," I had a similar feeling; most of the dissonances in the early stages had explanations later on. (Except for the dissonance with the Minotaur, which still hasn't been explained, leading many to give up. However, based on the current plot direction, I estimate there will be an explanation within this year.)
Westworld Season 3TV Series100%7I haven't figured out how to review it yet.
Amusing Ourselves to DeathBook100%9Is entertainment what stops us from thinking?
The Cursed Lily 11Manga100%8Marking it before the anime concludes.

Before reading the Golden Country chapter, I thought this manga was quite ordinary and bland. After all, both sides, friend and foe, are almost all expressionless, which led to no emotional fluctuations throughout my reading. It felt like "With Fuliang around, what is there to worry about on this journey?" It's good; the plot is quite novel, and although it touches on the profound topic of lifespan theory, I can only give it an 8.

However, after the Golden Country segment, I can confidently give this manga a 10. The Golden Country's Malha reminds me of the awakeners in "Big Sword." I especially like the discussion on "whether different species can understand each other." After this chapter, I kept thinking, "Why hasn't it updated yet?" and repeatedly reread the earlier content of the manga.

That feeling is like discussing "whether I can understand the cat in my company," or "whether tigers and humans can coexist harmoniously," which is very interesting.

Afterword#

When did I start developing the habit of not wanting to think, especially since I feel that everything I think is wrong? The impact of this realization has been quite significant.
